PM directed DCs to ensure safe use of IT and internet
Apart from other issues, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the Deputy Commissioners with 24 points to ensure the overall development of the country by emphasizing ICT and e-governance.
Joining through video conference from Ganobhaban after 11 am on Tuesday (January 18), the Prime Minister inaugurated the three-day DC conference and directed the Deputy Commissioners for working to build a skilled workforce with high technology knowledge to take maximum advantage of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
At the same time, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized ensuring safe use of information technology and internet among the people and taking steps to prevent misuse of social media, rumors and so on.
Minister for Liberation War Affairs AQM Mozammel Haque addressed the inaugural function at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium while the Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam delivered the welcome address. Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Ahmed Kaikaus addressed a video conference from Ganobhaban.
Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md. Ismail Hossain spoke on behalf of the Divisional Commissioners; Deputy Commissioner of Chandpur Anjana Khan Maslish and Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan spoke on behalf of the Deputy Commissioners.
